Frequently asked questions.

The questions our users ask most.

How does the service work?

Do I have to pay to access the service?
If your health plan, social security, employer or insurer tells you that you have access to the service and gives you a reference number, you can sign in and call doctors at no cost.
How are the platform’s doctors selected?
Every Calling the Doctor professional is a qualified doctor trained to answer consultations in their specialty. Whoever sees you will give you the best service.
What should I do if the doctor I want to talk to isn’t available?
All Calling the Doctor doctors are trained to answer consultations in their specialty. If for some reason you need to talk to a specific doctor, you’ll have to wait until they are available. You can check your favorite doctor’s availability in the "Doctors" section.
What happens if a call runs out of time?
If the conversation exceeds 7 (seven) minutes, the call ends automatically. If you want to keep talking to the doctor, you have to call again.
Do I need WiFi to use the service?
The minimum required connection is 4G/LTE or a high-speed WiFi connection.
Can I call a pediatrician for my child?
If you access the service through a health plan or social security, you must always call using the pediatric patient’s user account. If you access it through an insurer, the account holder can call and consult about their child.

Service scope

I ran out of calls.
If you’ve already used all your calls for the month, you’ll have to wait until next month.
Can I get a medical certificate? Can you issue an order for tests?
Yes, we issue medical certificates and orders for medical procedures (for example, ultrasounds), as long as your service provider has that option enabled.
What kind of consultations can I have?
Only low-complexity and primary-care consultations.

Remember that Calling the Doctor is NOT a medical emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately (in Argentina, 107, available 24 hours a day).

Sign-up and login

How do I sign up to use Calling the Doctor?

To sign up, enter your ID number and the validator. Then enter your email and follow the steps in the app.

If you have a Gmail account, we recommend using that option.

What is the validator?
It’s an identification number that depends on the company that provides you with the service.
Are you a member of a health plan or social security?
Sign in with the member number shown on your card.
Are you an insurer’s customer?
Sign in with the reference number shown at the top of your policy’s cover page.

Prescriptions

Does Calling the Doctor offer e-prescriptions?
Yes. You’ll find your prescriptions in the details of each consultation, in the "Calls" section.
I can’t find my prescription.
Write to us through the contact form so we can help you.
The prescription details are wrong (for example, the member number).
Write to us through the contact form so we can help you.
I have a problem with the medication I was prescribed, or it isn’t what I expected.
Contact a professional of the same specialty again and explain what happened so they can issue a new, appropriate prescription.

Call issues

I can’t reach a professional.
Our doctors usually answer in under two minutes. At times of high demand the wait may be longer: please call without hanging up and be patient (in those cases, wait up to 15 minutes). There are doctors available 24 hours a day waiting for your consultation.
I call the doctor but the call drops.
Check that you have a good internet connection (WiFi or mobile data). You can try calling over WiFi and then switch to data, or the other way around. The service works properly: you just need an adequate connection. Once you have it, call again; there are doctors available 24 hours a day waiting for your consultation.
